After rice and curry for dinner for the past few days, I decided to take a break and cook something different from our usual Malay menu ... The moment I said, "Tonight daddy's going to prepare grilled chicken for dinner ...", my kids jumped with approval.
I think it is a balanced meal ... protein from the chicken, 2 servings of vegetables from the carrots and broccoli, and some carbohydrate from the potatoes. Mom would be proud of me ... heheheheh ... :D
I just got to know, Down Under, the papaya is also known as paw paw ... and paw paw is a totally different fruit in the US.
The Paw paw part I know, but I don't really know the name/species of this feathered friend. Anyone here can help?
This was taken at the KL Bird Park a few weeks ago, but this little birdie is free to fly in the aviary and I can't find any information on the bird around the area.
A little "Gear Talk" this morning ...
I don't really have a proper "macro" lens, cannot afford one actually ... So, I got myself a wide angle converter that attaches to my kit lens filter thread. This filter/converter also acts as a macro/close-up filter and I find it good enough for my current usage. It's a "2 for 1" converter actually, I get to do macro and get my 18-55mm kit lens to go wide ...
with a 0.5x magnification the 18-55mm becomes a superwide 9-28mm :D
I hope I am correct in assuming this ....
This shot here was done with the kit lens and the said converter attached.
I am eyeing at the most affordable macro lens (that I know of), the Tamron SP90, but my next purchase would be the Canon ST-E2 remote flash trigger and another speedlight, the 580EX. Only after that I can think of getting new glass for my camera.
